Finding fun things to do during the Christmas season is easy. The hard part is actually remembering to do them all! I know I always make SO MANY plans and then usually only end up doing a handful of them. So this year I am doing 25 days of Christmas! No, not like the Free Form movie marathon. Well, kind of, there are movies! But with Christmas family activities too. In this series, you will find 25 days of an activity for the whole family, something to do with your spouse, a Christmas movie, a holiday recipe, and a random act of kindness.
Be sure to check in every day on the Living Life As A Wife Facebook Page to get your daily dose of Christmas! And get a FREE printable Christmas Bucket List from the Resource Library!
25 Days of Christmas Family Activities Day: 17
Christmas Family Activity
Today’s Christmas family activity is to go out and have a sleigh ride! Most areas will have somewhere that you can do this and the kids will LOVE it. Put some hot chocolate in travel mugs, bring along some snacks (see below!!) and enjoy!
Christmas Couple Activity
Get the stocking stuffers ready for the kids today. That way when the kids go to bed on Christmas Eve, you can just slip them into the stockings easily. Just sit on the floor together and sort everything out so you know what is going on. Adding some fun Christmas music and egg nog to the occasion can’t hurt!
It’s day 3 of the Home Alone marathon!
I’m going to be honest, this is my favorite of the 3. I enjoy them all. But this is the one I always want to watch the most.
In this installment, Alex is home sick with the chicken pox but his parents both have to go to work for a few hours a day. So he has a neighbor close by if he needs anything. But he witnesses robbers going into the houses in his neighborhood and calls the police. The problem is that no one believes him.
So he takes matters into his own hands. Only to realize that he has what they are looking for! Have fun with this one and we will be on to other movies tomorrow!
This is an easy and quick cookie to make. And it uses almond extract! If you know anything about baking, you know how yummy that makes cookies! These are yummy and easy enough to take with you for your sleigh ride! Get the recipe for these Candy Cane Cookies from Joyfully Thriving and enjoy!
I am trying to keep these posts quick and about how you can have fun during the holidays with your family. But today’s giving requires a quick fact about my family (for those who don’t already know.)
Tobias had open heart surgery and spent some time in the hospital afterward. You can read a little more about that in my post on My Sweet Home Life. That was almost 2 years ago. But he STILL uses the no-sew blanket that he was given when he was there. It was the first blanket that he ever slept with. And he sleeps with it every night. Sometimes he even gets it out of his bed and sits with it in the living room. That little blanket is something special to all of us. And it was DONATED to the hospital. They said sometimes they have them and sometimes they don’t.
The families with children in the hospital will NEVER forget your kindness if you donate a few small no-sew blankets for the kids. Need a tutorial? Check out these simple instructions.
Happy December 17th!
Wow, this month is going by fast! Keep enjoying your time with your family today.
