Finding fun things to do at Christmas time can be easy but do you actually remember to do them all? I know I always make TONS of plans for the holiday season and I usually only end up doing a handful of them. So this year I am doing 25 days of Christmas! No, not like the Free Form movie marathon. But with Christmas family activities! It will be 25 days of an activity for the whole family, something to do with your spouse, a Christmas movie, a holiday recipe, and a random act of kindness. This is day 2, so if you missed day 1 PLEASE check it out here.
25 Days of Christmas Family Activities: Day 2
Happy December!! Whether you are doing day 2 of the Christmas family activities on December 2nd or not, I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season! I’ll jump right into the activities!
Christmas Family Activity
I LOVE to have the decorations and the tree up RIGHT after Thanksgiving. So if you haven’t put up your tree yet, do it today! Have fun pulling out all the ornaments and the lights. Build it up tall and beautiful! Everyone can help hang the ornaments. And you can talk about different Christmas memories and watch a Christmas movie (see the recommendation below!) while you do it. I would LOVE for you to share a photo of your tree with me on my Facebook Page!
Christmas Couple Activity
After the kids go to bed, stay up to enjoy some alone time. Make it fun and special tonight by having a mini fondue party! Chocolate and cheese make everything better! It is easy to prep ahead of time and you can sit and eat some delicious dipped food while you talk about your day.
This movie is a great way to teach kids the real meaning of Christmas and get away from the idea of gifts being all that matters. Enjoy the evening with Charlie and his friends!
I like these dinner rolls because they are delicious, and really not that hard to make! Everyone at your dinner table will enjoy it. Find the recipe for them at Delicious Table.
It does take some prep time because they need to rise for 3 hours. But it calls for frozen dough so you don’t have to worry too much about baking bread if that is not something you have done before.
You can also vary the toppings as much or as little as you like. But I LOVE everything listed in this recipe so I use them all when I make it.
You can make this another little Christmas family activity and let the kids help put the toppings on. My son LOVES cheese so he just tries to eat it when we give him the bowel.
Let me know how it turns out for you and what topping was your favorite!
A great thing to do for Christmas giving is to adopt a family. You will choose a less fortunate family who may not be able to afford Christmas gifts for their kids and buy a couple things off the lists they give you.
This is one of those things that I think everyone should do if they are able. Because if I were ever in a situation where I couldn’t buy my kids gifts I would never be able to be thankful enough for someone else doing doing it. Despite Christmas not being all about the gifts, they still obviously play a role and even just having some new socks or a blanket is enough.
Happy December 2nd!
I hope you enjoyed these Christmas family activities today. And I will see you tomorrow for more fun!!
