I spent at least an hour each day this week on the phone. I caught quite a few mistakes made by companies that we work with that could have been financially devastating to our family. Our mortgage payment being pulled twice due to a computer glitch. Our insurance payment processing wrong. Causing part of the payment to be missed and then our monthly premium to shoot up over $80/month. I also spent time arguing with our internet provider over the ongoing number of mistakes made over the last 7 weeks.
It’s been a very involved week on the phone for me.
- Baby Time
After all that time on the phone, I was short on spending time with Tobias, 13 month olds want all your attention all the time. And I had to be on the phone for quite a lot of time. So after the phone, I spent time playing with him so that he gets as much mommy time as he can before baby #2 arrives in a few weeks. He’s also been very clingy this past week because he is getting molars. Poor baby.
Speaking of baby #2. my whole body hurts and sometimes the only way I can get comfortable is laying down. So despite having 25 other things I could be doing, I take a nap.
This past week made it tough on progress for me. It wasn’t the breakout week I was hoping for. But life happens.
A huge part of what I want this journey to be about is being happy despite what happens to try to get in the way. Overcoming obstacles and leaving them in the past is incredibly important. But sometimes it is hard for me to do. So being happy afterwards is what I want to work on.
So this week, taking care of the unplanned things that came up was what took precedence. I caught major mistakes before they became major issues. All these things got dumped on top of my objectives list, and took more priority. So I got all of them done at the expense of a few objectives.
I didn’t write daily. Which caused me to lose the bit of progress I made towards getting ahead in posts at the beginning of the week. But at the same time, thanks to help from my husband, we got ahead on cleaning the nursery. Stuart even got the twin bed put together that needed to be setup. All of these things put together give me how I did on the week. And I am calling it a win.
So even though I lost a little time, I’m going to call my first week a success. Even though a few things will be pushed into the next week, life happens and I have to work with it.
I’d love to hear about your first week below. And I look forward to the next review. Keep doing the work toward your dream life!
