Are you always trying to get things done but failing because your baby wants to be held? Man do I know that feeling. With 2 kids 15 months apart, I have 2 always fighting for my attention and I have trouble doing ANYTHING while they are awake. I know you are frustrated and tired. But I want to tell you about a solution to your problem, and no it doesn’t include leaving your baby to cry!
I am all about transparency and honesty. So I will tell you that I applied to be given this product for free in return for an honest review. It arrived a few days ago and I was so excited I took it out and tried it on immediately (and almost burned the dinner I was cooking because of it!) Just to be clear, I received this product FOR FREE in return for an HONEST review. All opinions I make about the carrier are my own and come from my own experiences wearing it with my 9-month-old daughter.
I want to give you a super quick snapshot of the company.
The idea for the comfortable, ergonomic carrier to keep your baby close began back in 2002. Karin Frost revolutionized the way we carry babies when she decided to design a carrier that fit her needs.
Ergobaby carriers are soft structured carriers that are designed to cradle your baby in a natural sitting position while evenly distributing baby’s weight between your hips and shoulders for the ultimate ergonomic comfort.
I’ll start with the facts!
This carrier can be used for just about any baby from birth to 45lbs. Unlike the other Ergobaby carriers, you don’t need an infant insert for a baby under 12lbs. This one starts at 7lbs for front carrying facing toward the parent. It can also be worn front carry- facing out, hip carry, and back carry.
The Omni 360 gives you the ability to keep baby in an ergonomic position in all carrying styles. Meaning that the baby is seated in an ‘M’ position. And it keeps you comfortable with lumbar support and the ability to cross the straps to make an even more personalized fit.
- Breathable Mesh making for better airflow to keep you and baby cooler.
- Privacy Hood for baby when sleeping or breastfeeding. It is UPF 50+
- Detachable Pouch so you can store whatever you need to and access it easily.
Okay! Just a quick reminder that I was given this product FOR FREE in return for my honest, unbiased opinions.
Since I had my second child I have used a baby carrier far more consistently because I need my hands free to catch my toddler. It’s just part of having 2 kids close together in age. But having a good, high-quality carrier is important to me.
Putting it on and adjusting the fit
I have an older style Ergobaby carrier so I already had an idea of how to put it on. But using the instruction manual to adjust everything was incredibly easy. I adjusted it multiple times while wearing my daughter and it was easy to do with no issues.
A big reason that I like to use a baby carrier is that I have a long history of back problems. They started when I pulled a muscle so severely that I couldn’t stand up straight or walk properly for days when I was 14. By the time I was 17 I had a stress fracture in my spine. So, needless to say, having babies has not been easy for me.
Then my daughter came out at 9lbs 14oz and I was on my way back to being unable to bend, reach, or walk properly before she was 2 months old.
So an ergonomic baby carrier like the Ergobaby is very important to me. And the Omni 360 having extra lumbar support is a huge difference to my older model. As soon as I put it on I felt the difference. I’m usually sore after a shopping trip wearing my 20+lb daughter but I had absolutely no pain after wearing the Omni 360.
I also want to mention that my husband can wear it comfortably with no issues and he is 6’4 with VERY broad shoulders. So it easily fits men too!
Cool Air Mesh
I don’t know about your kids, but my kids sweat. A lot. So babywearing my daughter always leaves me with sweat stains on my shirt and feeling overheated for an hour afterward.
I’m not going to lie, I was still hot in my Omni 360 with the cool air mesh. But my shirt did not have sweat stains. And my daughter’s hair was not wet with sweat. So even though my husband still was miserable wearing it (he is ALWAYS hot), there was a definite difference in air flow between this material and my older version.
I am a big believer in buying things that are going to last. So this being able to be used for any baby (within 7-45lbs) is huge for me.
With my old carrier I had to buy an infant insert for my daughter to use it for the first 6 weeks (yes my daughter is huge). But this one is ready to go right off the bat. Then having the ability to back carry or forward face makes it easier to carry older kids in a way they are more comfortable with.
Would I recommend it?
Short answer, YES.
I would recommend this carrier to any mom who wants to be able to do things around the house when the baby is in a “never put me down or I will scream until my head explodes” mood. I have 2 kids who like to do that at the same time whenever I am doing something. Then they also do it when I am paying attention to the OTHER child instead of them. My house is loud. Love this life.
But this carrier is the best one I have used. And I’ve tried 4 different ones now. A wrap, another similar brand, an older Ergobaby, and the Omni 360 Cool Air Mesh. The Omni 360 is BY FAR my favorite due to it’s comfort for me and baby, and it’s usability.
Ergobaby supplies several instructional videos that can be found toward the bottom of that page. They are great and show you how to work all the straps and get the carrier and baby positioned correctly.
