1. Plant a garden
Kids love to watch things change. Planting flowers or vegetables is something that they will love to help with for tons of reasons. Toddlers enjoy any activity that you are doing. So when you pick up that shovel or fill the watering can, they will just love that they get to help or have their own toddler-sized version!! This one will be a little messy but Diana and Eric at Eating Richly give some great tips to deal with that situation! **Hint: no clothes!** Toddlers will enjoy getting messy and playing with the fun texture that comes with goop. My absolute favorite thing about this recipe is that it takes 3 ingredients and I have ALL of them in my house pretty much always. So whip up some goop and enjoy!
This fun summer activity is perfect for toddlers because it is easy, indoors or outdoors, and so darn simple. This is a great summer activity for toddlers from Mama Papa Bubba. Go out for a nice walk in nature and help them find some amazing leaves. Then get them their favorite color crayons to rub over the leaves. My son thinks some crazy kind of magic is happening when we do this and it is one of the best things I’ve ever seen.
About a year ago one of the local museums had a dinosaur exhibit that we took me then not quite 2-year-old to. They had several giant areas where the kids could dig for fossils. 6. Bubble Foam
Toddlers will love this one! I mean who wouldn’t enjoy colored bubbles foaming up all over the place. And it’s perfect for some summer fun because it will get them playing in the water. You can do it indoors or out depending on how you want to set it up which makes it great for rainy days too. There are a lot of ideas for sensory bins but this is one of my favorite ones because it can fit well into an ocean themed week! So in between other fun water play and such on a hot day, let your toddlers have some summer fun with this sand and water sensory bin from Fun Learning for Kids!
This activity takes a little more effort than some of the others to set up. But seriously… it is cool when it’s ready.
