Stay Motivated To Pay Off Debt The Cheap Way
Make paying off your debt quickly into a personal challenge. By using a fun printable sheet to fill in as you pay off your debt will feel rewarding. Set it up so that every couple hundred dollars you get to fill in another section. And race to see how fast you can fill it in.
The best way to do this is to break up your total pay off number into even milestones and do whatever you can to find your extra money to pay it off FAST!
Celebrate Milestones with Low-cost Rewards
Decide on which of the milestones you are going to get actual rewards at. And wrote down what the reward will be. You want to keep these things that you REALLY want. So that you are motivated to do the work to achieve them!
Something like a meal out, or a movie date are good examples. You need to be able to do things you enjoy if you are going to stay motivated to pay off debt.
Make a Vision Board
This can cost nothing or a few bucks, it is up to you. Take a few minutes and think about what your life will be once you have paid off your debt. Really envision where you will live or travel. Something you have always wanted that you will be able to have. Go into detail! Then, print out some photos from online or cut them out from magazines. Tape them up somewhere that you will see them every day.
Even though paying off debt can be hard, you can still make it fun. Take a positive angle to the journey whenever you can to stay motivated!
Making it into a game and coming up with some ideas to stay busy that don’t cost money are great ways to push forward through the hard times.
Some free ideas for you:
- go for a walk
- have a movie night in
- have a game night
- go window shopping
- have a bonfire with friends
Just do something that you enjoy!
